Perinatal Counselling Services

What is perinatal counselling?

Perinatal counselling involves support and guidance for individuals during the stages of pregnancy and after childbirth.

Counselling during and after pregnancy fosters emotional well-being, enhances parenting skills, and promotes healthier family dynamics, making it beneficial for anyone involved in the journey of pregnancy and early parenthood.

You do not need a referral or mental health care plan in order to access our counselling services. If you have private health insurance with extras, you may be eligible for rebates for our counselling service.

We currently offer our counselling sessions via Telehealth or over the phone. If you are interested in booking a counselling session, please book online by clicking the button below.

What areas do we assist with?

  • Pregnancy and Postpartum Support
  • Adjusting to Parenthood
  • Grief and Loss
  • Birth Related Trauma
  • Infertility
  • Intergenerational Trauma
  • Post Natal Depression and Anxiety

Pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum is life changing and exciting. However, it can also bring up some tough emotions and challenging situations. Mental health support for pre and postnatal mums and partners is still a growing space but one that is so important. We help people by providing emotional support, relationship guidance, education and a safe space for a judgement-free chat. At Earthside Australia, we’re parents ourselves and your allies in navigating the amazing but sometimes overwhelming journey of bringing a little one Earthside.

“Hello! I’m Liam, an experienced perinatal counsellor with a passion for supporting parents during one of life’s most transformative journeys. I have spent the past eight years dedicated to supporting people on their mental health journeys.

I utilise a person-centred, trauma-informed narrative approach, believing in the importance of creating a safe space where each individual’s story can be heard. Sessions are tailored to your individual needs, whether you’re facing anxiety or depression, adjusting to new roles or identities, processing childhood or birth related traumas or simply seeking someone to talk to.

Having witnessed first hand the joys and challenges of parenthood, I’m here to support you in building resilience, fostering healthy connections, and prioritising your mental wellbeing.

Together, I hope to create a therapeutic alliance which allows us to work collaboratively to achieve your goals.

I look forward to being a part of your journey.”
